About Tim
Tim Moolman has spent over 21 years documenting weddings across South Africa. Based in Jeffreys Bay, he travels the length of the Eastern Cape and Garden Route for the weddings he takes on. He works alone, shoots quietly, and never interrupts a moment. What you get is your day, honest, unscripted, and completely yours.

If you meet me, you will quickly realise one thing: I’m absolutely fascinated by us as a human race. I love people, the kids tearing up the dancefloor, the emotional grandparents, the ecstatic couples, and honestly, even the delightfully drunk guests.
Over 21 years and 400 weddings down the line, I’ve learned that your big day isn’t a scripted production or a series of stiff, forced poses. It’s a living, breathing story. My absolute specialty is stepping back to let that story unfold naturally.
I move through your day with silent cameras and zero intrusive equipment, acting as a sincere eyewitness to the honest, unpretentious magic that defines you.
Some photographers think shooting 100% candid is a cop-out, assuming I just stand in a corner watching the world go by. Nothing could be further from the truth. To capture those fleeting, unnoticed moments, you have to be everything but shy. I shoot wide, getting right into the heart of the action while keeping everyone completely at ease.
My approach is discreet, courteous, kind, and entirely focused on the room’s energy. I’ll only ever step out when it is absolutely necessary to create a great portrait of the two of you. Otherwise, I’m just there to give you a photographic reflection that is authentic, unpredictable, and timeless.
