Back in 2008, I was living on the Isle of Man when I lucked out with a gig for a behind-the-scenes documentary celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Italian Job.
We had the pleasure of witnessing Russ Swift’s mad stunt driving skills as he effortlessly handled those Mini Coopers like a legend. Picture this: small airport, freezing cold, and a crazy windchill of -13°C (8.6°F).
Despite the bone-chilling weather, it was a blast. Swift’s wild two-wheel stunts and slides had us all hooked. To survive the icy conditions, the camera crew and I bundled up like Eskimos, layering on everything we had, rain gear included.
Looking back, I dug up some of my favourite shots from that shoot and gave them a slick black and white edit for that extra flair. That documentary shoot was a game-changer for me, a sneak peek into the vibes that would shape my approach in future projects. Good times! #documentaryphotography#behindthescenes#russswift#theitalianjob#blackandwhitephotography
